Following Martin’s visit in May, the vertical drive shaft has been jacked up and repositioned to engage the two gears (wallower & pit-wheel) correctly but the bearing foot still needs clamping in place before running the gear. This requires a small proprietary clasp to be factored however, we are now able to turn the water wheel over manually and keep the new timbers moist to prevent cracking.
